STATEMENT OF FAITH

FGEM, as a church of Jesus Christ and an organized church body, believes:

  • There is one living, true, holy, and sovereign God, the creator and preserver of all things, known as a unity of three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

  • Jesus is the Messiah, our Savior and Lord.  He was born to the virgin, Mary, and is fully God and fully man, yet sinless.  He is the supreme revelation of God to humanity.

  • Jesus died as the representative, substitution and atonement for sin, was raised bodily from the dead, ascended back into heaven and is now making intercession for the church, and will soon return for his bride, the church.

  • Salvation is solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

  • Believers are called by God to live changed lives, crucifying the old, sinful nature and, in the power of the Holy Spirit, bearing fruit and glorifying God through holy living and ministries.

  • The church is the community or fellowship of regenerated believers, with Christ as its head.

  • That all believers should be baptized by immersion in obedience to the command of Christ and His example.

  • That all believers should regularly fellowship at the Lord’s Table in remembrance of His atoning death and in anticipation of His return.

  • The Holy Spirit is present and active within each believer for the edifying of the Body of Christ.

  • The mission of the church is to evangelize and bear witness to the kingdom of God.

  • Jesus Christ will come again for revelation as Lord and King, for completion and glorification of the church, for judgment of the living and dead, for final overthrow of the powers of evil, and, for the establishment of a new heaven and a new earth.

  • The Scripture is the divine inspired revelation of God and is trustworthy, sufficient, and the ultimate authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
